Freedom Is the Heartbeat of America    (Click on title to listen to the song)

This very patriotic song was written and recorded by my very good friend Bill Chappell several years ago. The tracks were recorded somewhere in Arkansas along with Bill's vocal.

In 2002 I was asked by the A.C.N. Television Home Shopping Network to produce a CD with a patriotic theme featuring some good country music. I already had an active organization called "The American Freedom Showcase" where we showcased new talent from across America thru radio, television and recordings. I had mentioned to Bill that I was looking for one good patriotic song and he told me that he had it. When I heard it, I knew it was perfect for this project. Bill was kind enough to let me use the original tracks that he had recorded and we just replaced his voice with mine. Although the CD had a great selection of songs and artists, it was the first music project that the network would attempt to sell and took a long time to get it started.

Actually, it took so long to get started that it never did happen. New management came in and said "If it isn't broke don't fix it." I ended up with a finished project and nowhere to go with it. I still think that it is a good song and I am very thankful to Bill for letting me record it. You can check Bill Chappell out at his website, www.laughlaugh.com

Session Players:
The only player that I know on this track is Robbie Springfield. I think he is playing guitar. I have known Robbie since the 1970's when he played steel guitar for Fiddlin' Frenchie Burke. Robbie lived in Houston, Texas at that time.
