THE SESSION PAGES - Stories, Songs & Pictures from Larry's Studio Sessions

"There is a story behind every song and another story behind every session.
I hope you enjoy these sessions and the stories about them. Thanks, Larry"

Over the years, I have taken part in some great recording sessions. Some were for other people and some for me. I have been able to keep up with some of those sessions and some are gone forever. I thought it might be interesting to put some of the ones I have managed to find on this site so that
we all can enjoy them for what they are. I will be adding more as I find them. There were too many sessions over the years to allow me to post them all. Most of the sessions that are available on record labels or on the internet will not be here unless they are very hard to get.

Listen to the songs!  Read the stories behind the sessions! Click on the titles below.
I Ain't Livin' Long Like Like This      The Weight
The Rain Might Wash Your Love Away
      Ophelia
Mama's Hungry Eyes      My Baby's Gone
Freedom Is the Heartbeat of America     Honky Tonk Blues
When I was A Cowboy

Most of the time in recording sessions the studio, the story around the session and the players involved makes the appeal of the song even greater and I always enjoy a good inside scoop. It is sometimes very surprising to find out exactly who played on a session such as John Lennon with David Bowie on "Fame" (which he co-wrote) or Billy Preston with the Beatles playing piano on "Get Back".

I would really like to hear from you.
