During this time, Larry played all over the world with the Burritos, recording several albums with them on various labels including The Grateful Dead label. He sang duets on Burrito albums with Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Delbert McClinton, Charlie Louvin and the Oak Ridge Boys. Many guests (including Buck Owens, Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Joel Sonnier, Sam Bush, Sonny Landreth, Dave Roe, Jamie Whiting, Earl "Poole" Ball and Al Perkins) were also featured on these albums. At one session in Los Angeles they were so close to having Keith Richard, that his guitar tech was in the studio in L.A. with all of Keith's gear. But Mick Jagger got some kind of stomach virus in San Francisco so they canceled the L.A. show. The Burritos were also given a gold star on the Australian Gold Coast Rock and Roll Walk of Fame during a seven week sold out tour of Australia in 2000.

At the end of 2000, after touring Sweden and Norway, the Burritos decided to stop touring so Larry went back to Tennessee. Shortly after that he was introduced to the Chillbillies out of Knoxville, TN and stayed with them playing bass, singing and recording until July of 2005.
Larry is currently involved in a recording project tentatively titled "Mission City Playboy". This CD features Larry's truly amazing "honky tonk" voice on driving Texas roadhouse versions of 13 Willie Nelson songs from the late fifties and early sixties. There's a good chance that both Willie and Delbert will show up on this album; perhaps other guests as well. There will soon be a missioncityplayboy.com website up and running, so for more news on this project, please check out that site.
